New Panteg RFC

New Panteg RFC is a Rugby club based in Pontypool, Torfaen. The club is situated between the villages of Panteg and New Inn, and was formed due to the immensely impacting steel industry. The club has grown and developed greatly over the past 15 years, they currently have miniatures, juniors, youth and senior teams, all run and developed by volunteers.

The club prides itself on being influential to a vast amount of children and people, providing them with the opportunities, facilities, personnel and social development at all levels. The club aims to continually progress in every aspect of its provision, providing an opportunity where children, young people and youths, can all develop their rugby skills whilst actively engaging in sport and fitness for the promotion of health and well being.

The Cash 4 Clubs sports grant of £500 was awarded to the club to enable them to replace their current boiler and regain shower and changing facilities. The new boiler will increase participation at all ages due to players being able to access hot showers, therefore increasing revenue for the club and also bringing the aspiration of setting up a women's team, a step closer.

"This grant will help our club enormously, it will enable us to replace the boiler in our changing rooms which will reinstate the use of our changing facilities. This means it will provide a good showering facility for all age groups, which the club runs. The benefits from this new equipment and improved facility consist of increased participation and potential for more revenue through the club. Once again, we would like to show our vast appreciation for selecting our club and awarding us the money for a new boiler which will make a big difference." Dan Warren, New Panteg RFC.
