Crynant Juniors RFC
Crynant Juniors Rugby Football club is based in Neath, West Glamorgan. Based in a small village, and established for over 100 years, the club supports 2 senior teams and 3 junior teams. The club though is more than just a rugby club and is at the heart of the village community. Other sports and events are also held at the clubhouse and with the closure of the only 2 local pubs and welfare hall the club will continue to play an important role in the future.
The club's goals and aspirations are to continue for another 100 years and for the club and clubhouse to stand strong as a pillar within their small community. They aim to continue to offer the village youngsters, both boys and girls, the opportunity to participate in rugby, as well the opportunity to stay healthy, develop teamwork skills and to meet new people.
The Cash 4 Clubs sports grant of £500 was awarded to the club towards the establishment of a mixed Under 7's rugby team for the community.
"The money will be used to set up an U7s rugby side - purchasing equipment and sending coaches on coaching courses, referee courses and first aid courses. Any monies left over will go towards purchasing a kit. Crynant RFC is a small village club, where funding is difficult to come by particularly during these difficult financial times and is fully dependent on its Junior section for its long term existence. Once again many thanks for the £500 grant."
