Truro Fencing Club
Truro Fencing Club is an active not-for-profit fencing club based in Cornwall. The club caters for all fencers, from absolute beginners to Olympians, and from 5 years old to 78 (their oldest member).
In 10 years the club has gone from a small community club to one of the UK's biggest players on the fencing scene. They are active in local schools, Scout groups, satellite clubs and community sports activities, involving over 300 children in sporting activity each week
The goals are the club are to take the sport of fencing into the local community giving children of all backgrounds the opportunity to try this exciting modern sport free of charge. They wish to give all individuals interested in participating in the sport of fencing high quality, low cost coaching and tuition as well as free access to safety equipment.
The Cash 4 Clubs sports grant of £500 was awarded to the club to contribute towards the purchase of further sets of safety equipment and fencing swords. Further equipment is needed as Truro Fencing Club expands its program of school and community fencing sessions around the county, take the sport to new areas and rural communities in Cornwall.
