Bristol Ladies Union

The Bristol Ladies Union is a football club based in Bristol in Gloucestershire. The club is fairly unique, created from the merger of girls sections from 3 other clubs it is able to offer a full development pathway from girls of U8 through to senior football in the 3rd tier of ladies football.

The club currently has over 140 playing members and has also been involved with local primary and secondary schools helping to run schools tournaments. The club's aspirations are to provide opportunities for girls and women of all ages to participate in football (either by playing, coaching, refereeing or administrating). Player enjoyment and development are central to the club's ethos and players of all abilites are welcome to join and have fun playing football.

The Cash 4 Clubs sports grant of £750 was awarded to the club to help fund further training and development of their coaches and referees. This will help them with the sustained development of their club, allowing them to provide better training and higher standards, and to be able to cater for an expanding membership of female footballers.

"We are delighted to receive this award from Cash4Clubs. We will use the money to develop the ability of our volunteer coaches, to develop a pool of qualified referees, and to implement the FA Respect campaign, all of which are vital to the sustainable development of the club."
