New Forest Volleyball Club
The New Forest Volleyball Club is based in Southampton, Hampshire. Established for only a year they are the only volleyball club in the whole of the New Forest, an area covering 70 square miles with 10 secondary schools, with 55 primary, junior and infant schools.
Their ambitious plans include working towards Club Mark accreditation and to train a further 9 people next year to a minimum of EVA level 1 coach. Once up and running they hope to enter youth teams into National age group competitions and ultimately into National League adult teams.
The club is also looking to set up regional volleyball academies in the east, west north and south of New Forest. This will allow them to bring the sport to students rather than expecting members to travel a long distance to the club's centre. The Cash 4 Clubs sports grant of £250 was awarded to the club towards to purchase of new balls and carts, enabling New Forest Volley Club to expand on its activities.
