Elham Valley Cricket Club
Elham Valley Cricket Club is a cricket club based in Folkestone, Kent. The club has been in existence for over 100 years with 85 junior members between the ages of 5 and 16 plus 35 adult playing members. In 2008 the club achieved ECB Clubmark status, which acknowledges their inclusiveness and work in striving to promote safe well run facilities for all ages to practice and play cricket.
The club's role is to continually improve participation and engagement of children and adult members within Folkestone in sport, with the commensurate benefit of a healthier lifestyle for all.
The Cash 4 Clubs sports grant of £500 was awarded to the club to go towards the cost of training 3 volunteers to undertake the UKCC Level 1 or Level 2 courses. In return they will continue to volunteer their services, enabling the club keep their coaching ratios low, increase participation, improve the quality of coaching and provide more competitive cricket for young players.
