Participation Through Sport

Participation Through Sport provides multi sports to children in Warrington, Cheshire.

Participation Through Sport (PTS) is a voluntary organisation which provides sports and games for children and young people that are socially disadvantaged and can't access regular activities. The staff and volunteers deliver a range of sport and play activities for young people and children. PTS also delivers a Community Football Street League which targets young people with issues around anti-social behaviour.

All activities, courses and events are free of charge and target children and young people that are from difficult backgrounds. Everyone is welcome to attend their sessions and the focus is on inclusion ensuring that every participant has the opportunity to take part.

The Cash 4 Clubs sports grant of £1000 was awarded to the club to enable them to ensure that they can continue their Community Football Street League with funds being spent on facility hire for the street league, training of volunteers such as funding referees courses and sports leaders courses, equipment such as bibs, balls and shin-pads.

'The grant will allow Participation Through Sport to continue running the Warrington Community Street League and providing a Inclusive Football Activity for young people who don't access regular football clubs and struggle to find opportunities to take part in Football. The Street League is also a tool for developing volunteers that have an ambition to coach or referee in football. Our current funding from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust will run out later this year so this grant will keep the Street League running for at least another year.'
