East Shore Netball Club

The East Shore Netball Club is based in Seaham, Durham. As a community club it aims to encourage young women from the local area to participate in the sport, catering for members from the age of 16 as well as older members. The clubs members range from absolute beginners to teams competing in local league matches.

As a club based in a disadvantaged area they aim to help build their members' skills and experience of the sport as well as general confidence and social skills from being involved in the group activities. They also look to expand on engage young people from local schools by providing coaching and taster sessions. Additionally the club has been able to provide great benefits to its older members, with the majority of them being able to participate in exercise for the first time in a number of years.

The Cash 4 Clubs sports grant of £250 was awarded to the club to enable them to purchase new equipment. This will help them to develop further as a club, by providing better training facilities a to allow them to expand their club membership and to encourage further members to take part in the sport.
