Raiders Netball Club
Raiders Netball Club, based in the London borough of Lewisham provides a friendly and inclusive club, with members ages ranging from 8 years to 55 plus and reflecting the diverse backgrounds of the local community. Both the club and its dedicated senior members have been proactive in providing excellent coaching and promoting an active life style and healthy living to both young and not so young women in the community for a long while.
The club presently survives as a self financing voluntary organisation due to the dedication, commitment and robust management of key senior members. They have also recently taken on the role of assisting a newly established club in a neighbouring community and collaborating on a few small projects.
The Cash 4 Clubs sports grant of £500 was awarded to the club towards the purchasing of match kit for their 2 youth squads. These youth squads have had great success, representing the club both at a local and County level. However, the cost of purchasing kits can be a barrier for many of the younger members. New kits will also enable the teams to continue with their pride and commitment, as well as help bolster awareness and support for the club in fundraising efforts.
"We are overjoyed and very grateful to 'Cash4 clubs' in awarding us this money, as we will now be able to provide club uniform for our under 14 and under 16 Kent County League squad members. Our young women will now be able to take to the playing courts, on an equal footing with their opponents, looking uniform and professional as a squad and feeling confident and good about themselves in their new club kit which has been made possible with the Cash4clubs grant. With a new self confidence about their appearance, their play which is constantly improving is destined to go from strength to strength. Thank you again." Raiders Netball Club.
