Hitchin Rugby Club
Serving the Hitchin community since 1954, the rugby club was the first in the county to achieve the RFU Seal of Approval and Sport England Charter Mark.
A family orientated club, they have teams for all ages and low family subscription costs. Their coach development programme supports both their players' game and keeps ex-players involved.
Working in partnership with the local council, they also manage their facilities to allow for use by football, tennis, skate boarding and rotary club activities, making the club part of the heart of the sporting community in Hitchin.
Their vital role in the community's grassroots sport development secured them a £1,000 sports grant, which will help the Youth Development Officer encourage more children to take up the sport.
