Broxbourne Swimming Club

The Broxbourne Swimming Club, based in Hertfordshire. The club was formed in 1957 and with some 40 working volunteers it teaches and coaches swimming to children, young people, adults and parents. The club has over 200 members from within the local community of all different levels - from beginners, to adult improvers and right through to county level swimmers.

Within the difficult current climate and with ever increasing pool hire costs, Broxbourne Swimming Club has not had the spare funds to put towards updating facilities and equipment. The Cash 4 Clubs sports grant of £750 was awarded to the club to enable them to replace old and worn equipment.

"Broxbourne Swimming Club is so grateful to Cash 4 Clubs for their generous donation that will help us to buy new lane ropes for a school pool that we currently hire. We have been in dire need for new lane ropes for a few years now as our current set are old, falling apart and not fit for use. The grant will enable us to buy a brand new set of tailor made professional ropes and a storage reel which will last us for many years. Not only will these be able to be used by Broxbourne Swimming Club, but the school will also be able to benefit from them. In order to develop and progress our swimmers, we rely on appropriate and up to date facilities and equipment. However within the current climate it is hard to spare the cash on updating such items. This grant means that we will not have to pass this cost onto our members; this will help us to keep swimming affordable to our members. Thank you for investing in the future of our club." Natalie Conway (Swimmer, Captain, Funding Manager).
